EVALUATION OF SELECTED INSTITUTIONAL LICENSURE EXAMINATION

This descriptive study was conducted to determine the performance of graduates in the selected Institutional LET Review Materials when taken as a whole and when categorized as to different areas such as Curriculum Development, Assessment of Learning, and Principles of Teaching. Moreover, this further aimed to find out if a significant difference existed in the performance of the graduates in the Selected Institutional LET Review Materials of Iloilo Science and Technology University. The respondents of the study included the 50 Teacher Education graduates who were chosen purposively. Existing LET review materials were used as an instrument for the study. Frequency, percentage, SD, and ANOVA were used as statistical tools. Results of the study revealed that the graduates got a low performance in their scores when taken as a whole and when categorized as to different areas. Moreover, no significant difference was noted in the performance of the graduates in the selected institutional LET review materials when categorized as to different areas. It can be concluded, that the Professional Education subjects are considered as a difficult subject area which needed more focused and attentive. Thus, it is recommended that for the improvement of the exam performance, addressing five important areas concern: (1) students, (2) faculty, (3) curriculum, (4) policies, and (5) methods of evaluation in the delivery of instruction.
