THE ROLE OF ICT IN HIGHER EDUCATION FOR THE 21st CENTURY

Using Information and communication Technology (ICT) in Education can significantly contribute to a good quality of education and its effectiveness. ICT is the mode of education that use information and communications technology to support, enhance, and optimise the delivery of information. ICT has become an integral part of today’s teaching learning process. Effective use of technology can motivate students, make our classes more dynamic and interesting and renew teacher enthusiasm as they learn new skills and techniques. Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to an improved student learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute of Multimedia Education in Japan, proved that an increase in the use of ICT in education with integrating technology to the curriculum has a significant and positive impact on students’ achievements.
